Power
2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E
Standard for the Mustang Mach-E is a 70 kWh electric motor or the extended range with a 91 kWh electric motor. Offered on rear or both axles, the latter paired with AWD. The GT and GT Performance make 480 horsepower and 634 lbs-ft of torque while lower trims range from 266-346 horsepower and 317-428 lbs-ft of torque. Wheel sizes range between 18-20 inches.
Range is a bit less than the Tesla at 211-305 miles but it compensates with fast charging capabilities: adding 30 miles per night with a 120-volt outlet or 80% overnight with a 240-volt outlet. Better yet, you can opt for a Ford Charge Station for 32 miles/hour charge or full recharge overnight.
2022 Tesla Model Y
The Model Y gets a little more range from 303-330 miles, the Long Range getting more than the higher level Performance trim. The Performance trim, however, offers 20-inch wheels, a lowered suspension, quick acceleration and dedicated track mode. In terms of mileage, the Long Range offers 131 mpge in the city and 117 mpge on the highway. The Performance, a little less at 115 mpge city and 106 MPGe highway.
Interior/Exterior
2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E
For maximum cargo space, the battery is cleverly stored under the floor, making 29 cubes or 60 with the rear seats folded. 2022 has brought in a new look which incorporates a digital gauge cluster and a large vertical screen mounted on the dash. Customizable ambient lighting, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel and a floating armrest that opens for more storage, are also included throughout. The frunk has rinsable material perfect for storing muddy equipment or ice for tailgating and a panoramic sunroof is the cherry on top.
2022 Tesla Model Y
The 2022 Model Y dropped the complex Falcon wing doors with a similar interior as the Model 3. There’s not a ton of physical touches but a large touchscreen that displays everything from the speedometer to climate control. An all-glass roof gives it an open, airy feel and in case you’re worried about the hot summer sun hitting you, the glass is heavily tinted to combat this.
