The Ford Bronco, a favorite among SUV enthusiasts since the mid-1960s, was reintroduced to the market back in 2021. It’s bigger, badder and more popular than ever before. But what’s changed since it made its eagerly-awaited comeback? Let’s take a look.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
- The 2024 Ford Bronco is mostly the same as the 2023 model.
- New exterior color changes and a 12.0-inch infotainment touchscreen system are new to ‘24.
- There’s allegedly a Bronco hybrid coming in the next few months.
- 2024’s lowest trim starts with the Big Bend. 2023’s Base level has been discontinued.
How Has the Bronco Changed for 2024?
With its 60th birthday looming in 2026, there are no major changes for the Bronco in 2024. But that doesn't mean there won’t be—Ford may introduce a plug-in hybrid Bronco to the market in the next few months.
Of the minor changes this year, the current iteration of the Bronco comes newly standard with a 12.0-inch infotainment touchscreen. Its highest trim, the Raptor, now has a Code Orange appearance package, the option of Shelter Green and Velocity Blue exterior colors and 17-inch wheels. The Badlands trim now features a modular front bumper to shield the truck from big objects.
A Big Change to the Ford Bronco’s Trim Levels?
There are still plenty of options to choose from when it comes to the Bronco; however, 2023’s Base trim is no more. In ‘24, the Bronco Big Bend is the lowest trim option.
The Bronco’s trims (and starting MSRPs) for this year are:
- Big Bend:$39,630
- Black Diamond: $43,330
- Outer Banks: $47,190
- Heritage Edition: $48,555
- Badlands: $50,095
- Everglades: $55,720
- Wildtrak: $60,225
- Heritage Limited Edition: $69,685
- Raptor: $90,035
Great Power at Your Fingertips
The 2024 Bronco is the powerful ride you remember from 2023. It still features a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. On regular gas that will get you 275 horsepower and 315 lb-ft of torque. Add premium and you have an even more powerful SUV at 300 ponies and 325 lb-ft of torque.
The Bronco also has another engine option, should you choose to raise the bar—a 2.7-liter twin-turbo V-6 that delivers 330 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque.
The Bronco’s Interiors and Infotainment System
Aside from the new, larger 12.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, not much has changed on the inside of the Bronco, yet it remains one of the most comfortable SUVs on the road. Owners have the option to upgrade their front seats to those that are power adjusted and heated and add leather or vinyl upholstery.
All occupants have plenty of shoulder, hip, head room, and there’s more than enough cargo space to store what you need to bring for the journey.
The Bronco comes standard with Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, a Wifi hotspot, four USB ports, HD and satellite radio, and a seven-speaker stereo system. Upgrades include:
- Two more USB ports
- A nav system
- A 12-inch digital gauge cluster (the standard is 8-inches)
- Wireless charging
- A 10-speaker Bang and Olufsen stereo system
- A 120-volt household-style outlet
- Proximity keyless entry and remote start
- Dual-zone automatic climate control
