Compared to previous trucks, these F-150 models introduce some very cutting-edge features. For example, the new Pro Power Onboard station lets you charge tools and other gadgets, whether your truck is driving or stationary. The station’s power output varies according to which engine you select, generating up to 7,200 watts with the PowerBoost hybrid engine.
Speaking of the PowerBoost engine, that’s also new for this crop of F-150 trucks. This hybrid powertrain combines the turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine with a battery-powered motor to create 430 horsepower and 570 pound-feet of torque.
The Raptor R also debuted during this generation, with a high-octane powertrain of its own. Under its hood, a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine kicks up major dust, generating 700 horses and 640 pound-feet of torque.
Besides those two additions, the same powertrains from the previous generation carry over to this one.
Since Ford updates the F-150 on a continuing basis, we’ve included a list of the important changes that happened in each model year, if applicable:
- The trail-ready Rattler package became optional for the 2023 F-150 XL trim model. A new Raptor R debuted, featuring a supercharged V8 engine.
- For 2022, the 3.0-liter diesel engine was discontinued and a Black Appearance package debuted for select trim models.
